Questions from HSA:
Summer events - guidelines and coordinating with staff?
Kindergarten play date: Not sure what this will look like this year. Principal S will flag this for new principal. Still in the midst of onboarding the new secretary so new kindergarteners haven’t been rostered yet. Building is supposed to open in August. Will notify families via Dojo
UACS summer camp will be virtual. Enrollment is live - info is on Dojo.
Summer programs from SDP are open and available - summer intervention (SOAR - grades 3-7 + ELL program). Everything is online
L-wing is being demolished! They will put a large plot of grass where it existed for now. Opening the building tomorrow, Wed, and Thurs for staff to pack personal belongings. Otherwise, building is closed. They are doing a full lead paint and plaster stabilization project this summer. They will paint and scrape the whole building. There will also be office and closet remediation to to make sure everyone has an office. Telecommunications project is pending, but they’re supposedly intending to rewire the building for intercom system and wireless system. Putting a new security camera where L-wing was. Putting in a new buzzer.
When is AG available for introduction-meeting? Principal S has been meeting with him regularly to begin onboarding him. He has met with the leadership team, faculty, and partner orgs. He’s going to be available for town halls for families and students - see Dojo post. Dojo post also has a survey for us to submit questions. Official start date is July 1. Principal S’s last day is June 30.
We can start putting HSA meetings on his calendar and getting him scheduled for a SAC meeting. First two weeks of July? Include him in the Doodle poll
HSA items for 8th grade graduation (Rich) - will pay out of school activity fund; list of what was taken for the gift bags was given to Megan for financial records
Teachers and summertime: It is not contractually required for them to maintain in contact over the summer but some are interested in helping.
Summer enrichment resources: Generation Genius school subscription (YouTube), or are we overwhelmed with optional curricula already? Maybe talk to UACS - could purchase it and get access for the whole school. HSA could also just buy it. Adam will put together a list and send it out to everyone.
Summer book order has been canceled. Study Island will remain open (3 year license for the school). Lexia site license expires July 31.
District is supposed to vet all programs before we can purchase out of our budget, so it’s a slow process.

K-3 Parent Liaison update (Steph) - nothing hugely formal in motion
Can teachers-staff facilitate inter-family communication during summer? Connect to 2-a-i (Adam)
Could we put together a Google Form to send out to teachers and staff -- would you be interested in partnering with the HSA to keep community going? We need especially ask if Mr. B, Ms. E, and Mr. H are available to serve as a point of contact over the summer.
Dojo classes usually get shifted to next year’s classes to late July/early August. Not sure about Google classroom shift. - Maybe ask AG about this
Logistics of promoting, collecting, and distributing of pandemic food funds (Adam)
Rich is following up with Ms. A and Ms. N to see if they plan on organizing more events like Sunday’s. They are planning on doing more event like this in the future. We should reach out to them to make sure we can help. Amy - copy Megan
Families in need get referred to Mr. B, Ms. E, and Mr. H. They have a list of families and what they need. HSA is always available to help.
What can we do to set up continued lines of communication over the summer?

End of year gifts for teachers? (Dell) Encourage parents to thank their teachers - via email is easiest. Do this in the same Dojo post about last call.
