4-28-21 Meeting Notes

Individuals Present: Principal G, Rachael, Megan, Adam, Mike, Tamika, Denise, Natalie, Joel

1. Updates from Principal G

   1. 3rd graders came back earlier this week, 4th/5th coming back tomorrow, 6th-8th coming back 5/10/21

   2. 3rd-8th grade in-person students scheduled to take PSSAs

   3. We’ve been approved for an additional staff member

   4. June 7th: 8th grade graduation (outside)

   5. Kindergarten graduation in the works

   6. Can’t do Lea Day this year but looking at some sort of event

   7. Teachers interested in funds for end of year gifts/celebration (roughly $100 per homeroom)

      1. We need to make sure that we have a good system for actually getting kids the prizes/gifts/etc. Mr. G will work on getting more info from teachers.

      2. We should be able to fund this ourselves and/or supplement with funds from Renewal Church.

Title I and HSA rep for school planning team (Mr. G)

2. September Title 1 meeting will be held concurrent with a SAC meeting

3. Each year we get $5000 for parent/family engagement and the school will work with SAC/HSA to decide how to best use those funds

4. Need an HSA member to join the school planning team

Finance report

1. Total $ Available: $1459.64 ($162.08 in cash)

2. Scholastic dollars available: $3,477.55.

3. SY 2021-22 Budget will be presented next month

New projects

1. May Book Fair -- Monday, May 17 and Friday, May 21

   1. Times and place: Recess is 10:30-1pm. If we do school hours, no earlier than 1pm. Set up would only be 30 min. We could start set up 1:30pm and let older kids catching the early bus browse around 1:45/2pm -- do it in the auditorium with the doors open (toward the back); will also be getting an air purifier for the auditorium soon

   2. There is a virtual option too.

   3. Vouchers? Coupon codes? Use scholastic credit for individual orders? We’ll see what the rep says on Friday.

   4. Volunteers:

      1. Monday: Rachael’s inlaws, Megan, Adam

      2. Friday: Rachael + her in-laws, Mike

2. Beginning student meet-ups

   1. Form distribution

   2. Role and reminders for point people (outside meetups, masked)

3. Graduation gifts for eight graders: TBD

   1. Lea baseball shirt order distribution plan

      1. Sell to teachers for $10, everyone else for $20

   2. Parking for staff - no updates yet

   3. 501(c)(3) updates

      1. Troutman Pepper is taking this on pro-bono (yay summer interns!)
