Mr. N recently passed away and counselors worked with grieving students today
Today was the first mask-optional day in the district/school; it’s been over a month since the last documented case of COVID in the school. Masks will be required in the week after spring break
Tomorrow the school planning team is meeting for the first time this year (17 people representing staff/parents/community); staff will be paid for their time
Town halls next week - Tuesday 11am, Thursday 7pm
Would be helpful to have volunteers hand out flyers Friday morning (3/11)
Town hall for ESL families and families of students with IEPs will be the following week
PSSAs coming up soon - PD will focus on getting ready
Lea Loves You Back Day March 17th - Relationships First will send a group to Lea for community-building circles/restorative conversations/harm & healing circles
Expecting a shipment of replacement Chromebooks pretty soon (50-100)
Financial Report

$95 on one more round of water bottles
$435 on playground repair materials
Scholastic Dollars balance: $1639.63
Yard projects
Ground markings project - Steph and Rich will meet up to discuss
March yard clean up - preferred dates?
Could we have a regular/planned litter pickup?
Once a month after school?
Perhaps we can start with one weekend coming up and move to a regular schedule after that
Could also just try to promote it at pick-up – if some of us spend some time picking trash then, we could talk with other families about doing it.
Steph can contact Not in Philly for trash grabbers
“Curb your dog” signs?
Little free library is in! (Big school yard on 47th)
Feel free to visit and borrow books or to put books in! Alternately larger book donations can be dropped off to Rachael.
Could we possibly get a bench in honor of Mr. N? Perhaps there are other ways to honor him as well?
Family engagement projects
Kindergarten open house - date not set yet but will likely be in early April. HSA volunteer co-host needed. Unsure if it will be in person. Rich and Principal G need to talk first to pick a date and will come back to the HSA for a request for volunteers.

We have 2-3 gift baskets still in Mr G’s office. Could give raffle tickets in exchange for doing a literacy activity or an educational game?
Give away extra uniforms
Could we raise some funds as well? A dollar a game?
Swag sales
Donation requests and a summary of how we’ve been spending funds on a posterboard? (include HSA purpose)
Introducing ourselves as the HSA - name tags? And sign ups for new members
