Updates from Principal G

1. L-wing demolition starting in April, Principal G meeting with the demolition folks on 3/29

2. Funding - met with Gauthier, speaking at the board meeting tomorrow

3. Doing a LOT of budget advocacy right now. There have been proposed cuts across the board.

Finance report

1. Total $ Available: $1,481.96

   1. All supply funds used; 66 people signed up, some for multiple children

2. Scholastic dollars available: $3,477.55.

Project updates

1. Supply distribution

   1. Mr. Rich meeting with Principal G and Mr. B tomorrow to check in

      1. Library partners have books for K-4, books for the higher grades coming in soon

      2. Mr. Rich will facilitate communication on the school end re: book distribution

2. Lea baseball shirt order (Adam)

   1. Shirts have been ordered

3. Parking for staff

   1. West Philly High - 20 spots until West comes back

4. Monthly contest?

   1. Drop March contest tomorrow, due after Spring break?

Budgeting - survey results and discussion

1. Ranking question (results from top to bottom): Practical needs, Activities/Events, Incentives for students & Support/gifts for staff

   1. # who chose it as top 2: Practical needs: 10, Events: 7, Fun Incentives: 5, Support/gifts for Staff: 4

2. What people enjoy: Book fair/Bake sale, Family Fun Nights, Fundraising events

3. Ideas provided: Benches for playground, parent/teacher student basketball game, carnival on the big playground with a dunk tank, Recruiting middle school parents to join, Read-a-thon, themed party each year, supporting efforts to improve safety for in-person learning

   1. Need to figure out what will be possible in light of COVID recommendations

   2. What kind of budget are we looking at

New projects

1. Supports for reopening?

   1. 75 children returning April 5th - R/F 1st grade, M/T K and 2nd grade

   2. Ordered more floor stickers, document cameras & hand sanitizer

   3. Got an air purifier for the gym

   4. How can we celebrate the kids coming back? April 5th and April 8th

      1. Welcoming committee - signs, balloons, etc? Meet up 7:30am
