Notes:

Updates from Mr. G

1. Suspect we’ll be in person next week but it’s hard to say for sure; the staff don’t get notice before we do from the district. Haven’t heard anything about access centers because the district is trying to avoid long term school closures

2. We don’t have more tech to distribute but will remain available to help in whatever ways we can re: tech support

3. Penn/the district/Lea have been working on project-based/student-centered learning and Penn will be financially contributing toward this effort-after a resolution is published a letter will be going out soon to families about this because community members will be engaged in the process. Right now this does not include building/facilities upgrades but funds can be used toward staffing, training, etc.

Financial Report

1. Total available: $6,561.55 ($3027.55 is available outside of the amount earmarked toward picnic tables ($2034) and for the next book fair (~$1500)

2. Scholastic dollars balance: $1538.79

Playground/yard projects

1. Updates

   1. Playground markings project - Mr. Rich is doing work with staff and will get input from them and students about what they’d like; Steph will stay in touch with Pam - most likely will do this in spring

   2. Trash cans - possibly will be getting some more through the Enterprise Center

   3. Fixing playground holes - likely will happen in the spring once the weather warms

   4. Stools for concrete pads - haven’t found an affordable source, will continue to look; may need to move back to the bench idea at this point - would not be able to move this forward until the spring

2. Day of service? Probably not feasible at this point

Health and Safety supply drive for January

1. Could definitely use more wipes, have a pretty good number of 3-ply masks

2. Plan for a hybrid campaign like we did before? Raise money online and collect physical supplies when we’re back in school? Could apply some of the funds from the Chipotle fundraiser toward this to place an order now so supplies will come in sooner

3. Water bottles?

4. Will promote this week and tell people to bring in supplies the first day whenever we get back.

Nominating committee for 2022 HSA elections

1. We would like to have 3 people on a nominating committee to help hold the officer elections this year (open positions will be secretary and vice-president). The committee collects nominations, sends out a Google form for voting and determines the winners (it’s easy and we have samples from past years you can refer to).
